Following
the Sign of Peace, Ministers should quickly proceed to the altar. Ministers of the Bread stand on the
Tabernacle side of the altar and the Ministers of the Cup stand on the Holy
Family side of the altar. The Minister
of the Cup in position #1 (person who arrives at the altar first) takes the
tray from the credence table to the altar and waits until the Presider hands
them the carafe. The Minister of the
Cup then pours the Precious Blood from the carafe into the Cups. Please use one of the purificators (already
on the tray) to wipe the lip of the carafe to prevent spilling any of the
Precious Blood on the Altar cloth or tray towel.
Following
the Lamb of God, the Presider distributes Communion to the Ministers of the
Cup, then puts the ciborium down and distributes the Precious Blood to the
Ministers of the Cup.
The
Presider then distributes Communion to the Ministers of the Bread and the Altar
Servers.
The
Minister of the Cup standing in the #1 position follows the Presider and
distributes The Precious Blood to the Ministers of the Bread and the Altar
Servers.
After all the
Ministers have received Communion, (except for the 6:45 am Mass), the Ministers
of the Cup standing in the #2 and #3 positions immediately proceed to the break
of the church along the sides. (These
Ministers should proceed before the Presider goes to his position at the
center). The Ministers of the Cup in
the #1 and #6 position goes to the Tabernacle side. The Ministers of the Cup in the #4 and #5 positions proceed to
the Holy Family side. (Note: at the 9:30
am Mass the Ministers of the Cup #1, #7 and #8 go to the Tabernacle side. The Ministers of the Cup in positions #4, #5
and #6 go to the Holy Family side.) The
Ministers at the sides position themselves to serve the side sections and then
turn to face towards the main congregation.
The
Ministers of the Bread standing in the #1 and #2 positions proceed to the break
of the church through the center aisle.
The Ministers of the Bread standing in position #3 goes to the
Tabernacle side of the altar and #4 goes to the Holy Family side of the Altar
and the remaining Minister of the Bread goes to the center with the
Presider.
After
Communion, the Ministers of the Cup go to the sacristy on the side of the altar
they were standing, and return the Cup to the sink area. If there is remaining Precious Blood in the
Cup, the Minister is to consume it, or ask for help in consuming it. Please
do not stuff the purificator in the Cup!
The
Ministers of the Bread are to approach the altar on the Holy Family side of the
altar where the Presider/Deacon is waiting and hand him their ciborium. The Presider/Deacon will consolidate the
remaining Body of Christ at this time and the minister will take their ciborium
to the sink area in the sacristry. The
Presider may choose to ask the last Minister of the Bread to take the remaining
Body of Christ to the Tabernacle after distribution to the Ministers of the
Sick, or he may proceed to the Tabernacle himself. Please remember to always maintain
a reverent and respectful demeanor.
