Purpose:
Called to serve as Eucharistic ministers to the sick, these parishioners
are commissioned by the pastor and the faithful to bring the Eucharist
to the sick, the homebound, and the residents of convalescent
homes on a weekly basis. These visits may be made on weekdays
and on Sundays after the scheduled Masses. As members of a family
of faith, this outreach unites those unable to attend, with those
who gather around the table at the parish church.
Group Members:
There are 80 commissioned Eucharistic Ministers to the sick. There
are 15 trained volunteers who assist them in the convalescent
home services.
Events:
Inservice educational opportunities offered by the parish or the
diocese are encouraged.
Many members assist at the annual Mass with the anointing of the
sick.
