The Holy Family Cathedral Choristers
Children's Choir is made up of school and parish students in
grades 3-8. Through weekly rehearsals, these students are
exposed to a wide repertoire of music performed in unison or parts
and accompanied by a number of instruments, many played by the
children themselves. The Children's Choir performs at school
masses, programs and activities, at the Diocesan Choral Festival,
and at monthly Sunday Liturgies. Mrs. Toni Dhuyvetter brings
her love for music, her skills in directing and teaching children,
and her extensive knowledge of young people. All school and
parish students are welcomed to participate in this vital ministry
to the church and the school community.
The Choristers are currently preparing to
perform for the annual Diocesan Choral Festival, America Sings
Festival in Long Beach and the National Festival of the States in
San Francisco this coming July. They have also been invited
to represent California at the international Pueri Cantores
Festival, which will be held in Rome in December of 2005, where
they will be singing for the Pope.
