Overview:
In keeping with our basic Catholic School philosophy,
computer education is an integral part of the school curriculum
at Holy Family Cathedral School. By providing experiences necessary
for computer competency, students will be prepared to take their
places in contemporary society.
The well-equipped, 36-station, computer lab at
Holy Family Cathedral School is programmed so that all students,
Grades K - 8, have an opportunity to attend the school's computer
lab for a weekly 45-minute session. In addition, supplemental
lab times are frequently arranged with the classroom teacher to
further integrate educational technology into their classroom
assignments.
The computer lab has an extensive software library
that is customized for each grade level and is designed to assist
active student learning in a variety of subject areas. Students
are encouraged to utilize the computers as a tool for creative,
original expression, problem solving, reinforcement of curriculum
and as an everyday life skill tool.
