Overview:

This year the 6th, 7th and 8th grade will:

  • Be able to solve multiple step problems using the problem solving method
  • Be able to solve problems using standard and metric units of measure
  • Be able to compare integers
  • Be able to use the order of operations
  • Be able to estimate and calculate average and percentages
  • Be able to apply formulas to the basic geometric figures
  • Be able to create and evaluate graphs and charts

In addition the 7th grade will:

  • Be able to apply formulas to compare length, area and volume
  • Be able to use the order of operations with positive and negative numbers
  • Be able to calculate fractions and decimals
  • Be able to solve basic algebra equations

In addition the 8th grade will:

  • Be able to solve problems using operations with equational numbers
  • Be able to solve problems using measurement, precision and conversion
  • Be able to solve multi-step algebraic equations
  • Be able to solve and graph simple linear equations
  • Be able to translate from English terms to algebraic equations
